Accept the difference and identify the common points
The strategy consists in giving up the illusion of fusion or total agreement. The text counsels using divergence to create value, like Heaven and Earth, which are opposed yet whose common work engenders life. The Accomplished Being maintains their singularity while patiently seeking the zones of contact and the shared interests with the other in order to unblock the situation.
On the energetic plane, the hexagram joins the trigram of Mist/Marsh (Dui, exchange, the youngest daughter) below to the trigram of Light (Li, discernment, the middle daughter) above. Fire rises while the water of the marsh evaporates or descends; their movements draw apart. The figure, however, contains a majority of Yang lines, confirming a force of self-assertion capable of making this tension creative.
